About.....
Who designed the QuadDesk? The QuadDesk was originally designed by
a C3-C4 quadriplegic who used a mouthstick. It was subsequently modified by
Kurt, a C4-C6 quadriplegic so that all people in wheelchairs, or those with
limited hand function and reach, could use the desk.
Why was the QuadDesk designed? As we mentioned above, the QuadDesk
was originally designed by a C3-C4 quadriplegic who had no upper body movement,
but used a mouthstick. With a flair for engineering and design he came up
with the original version of the desk that he could use with a mouthstick.
He then began using the desk for all his personal and business needs.
Kurt Simonson then redesigned the desk to meet both the present and future
needs of all people in wheelchairs, or those with limited hand function or
reach. This led to the modular design that makes it possible to change the
height and configuration of the desk as the users needs changed.
Who was the QuadDesk designed for. Or to put it in another way who can
use it?
The QuadDesk was designed for all people in wheelchairs who have some upper
body movement or can use a mouthstick. Consequently, C3 and below quads who
use mouthsticks or can move their arms, but not their hands and fingers can
use the QuadDesk.
What exactly is the
rotating top and what exactly is its advantage?
The rotating top is an
independent part of the table that acts like a lazy Susan.
Its major advantage is that once you have arranged items on it, you no longer
have to reach to retrieve any of them. You just push on the rotating top to
bring them within reach.
What is the carousel?
The carousel is a rotating surface with small shelves. Again, like the rotating
top you can rotate it to bring items to you, without having to reach or grab.
If there is already
a rotating top, why would I need a carousel too?
Whether you need a carousel
or not, depends on your needs. If you are going to college, working, etc.
it gives you extra space for keeping books, files etc. Also, you may find
it easier to read items that are on the carousel, as the carousel height can
be adjusted to your eye level.
Can I add the carousel
later if I don't get it now.
Yes

What kind of warranty does the QuadDesk come with?
The Quad Desk comes with a five year limited warranty on the frame, and a
one year warranty on all other parts..
What is the QuadDesk's Price?
The QuadDesk with the standard rotating top is $975 plus shipping. The cost
of shipping depends on where we are shipping it to.
